Bishop, Texas is in the south of the state and not too far away from Corpus Christi Bay.

Bishop is a very small town in south Texas, also known as “A Birder’s Paradise.” The city was built on agriculture as its economic mainstay. Modern day Bishop offers excellent schools, beautiful churches, and a million dollar City Park . Overall this is a good place to enjoy the good life.

The closest main town to Bishop is Kingston and it is right on the Route 77, which goes directly through to the town and then north towards Corpus Christi.

The main airport in the area is Bishop Municipal Airport, which is a relatively small passenger airport. It mainly deals with domestic flights and offers regular flights to Houston and Dallas, which will offer a wide variety of flights around the world.

There are three parks in the area, which are perfect for those with families, senior citizens and even students and professionals who enjoy some time outside of the apartment or work. City Park is the largest of the three and closest to the center of the town. Amistad Park sits on the west of the town, right on the edge, while Restland Memorial Park is on the east, again on the edge.

Being such a small town, there are only six schools in the area. Each school is for different age groups, which means that children grow up together and all know each other. Bishop Primary and Petronila Elementary cater for children between the school years of PK and Grade 3 (Bishop Primary) and 5 (Petronila Elementary). Bishop Elementary is for children between Grades 4 and 6. Luehrs Junior High offers schooling for those between the Grades 7 and 8 and then finally Bishop High offers the final four years of schooling. 2010 saw the opening of West Side School, which is another high school for the children in the area.

There are plenty of things to do in the area, whether it involves shopping, eating out or activities. This is an area that is perfect for all different types of homebuyers, whether they are families, couples or singletons.
